Diabetes Care

Estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) show that in 2007, the prevalence of diabetes in the U.S. totaled 23.6 million people or 7.8% of the population, an increase of more than 3 million in the past two years. Furthermore, prediabetes affects an additional 57 million.1

Food Sciences has embarked on an exciting new project that will help patients with diabetes decrease their health-related complications through information and tools offered on our full service interactive website. The website will include a self-monitoring log with a graphing component, recent research articles, diabetic nutrition products and meal plans, webcasts, virtual tours, and a wealth of information on different types of diabetes, health complications, symptoms/triggers, and treatment options, as well as tips for controlling diabetes, nutrition guides, exercise, and more.
